justcause2

One of the games I’m currently playing on the Xbox is Just Cause 2. This game is insanely fun. The story is unimportant here. The point is chaos. The more chaos you generate, the more missions and weapons unlock. Chaos is generated by blowing up enemy fuel tanks, smoke stacks, communication relays, barrels, and all kinds of other things accross 400 square miles of varying terrain. The map is HUGE, and there are plenty of targets to focus your destructive side on. If you enjoy virtually blowing up virtual stuff, then this game is for you.

walkingdead

Coming this October, the comic The Walking Dead is coming to AMC. The Walking Dead is an excellent comic about a group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse and their struggle to survive in an all new, deadly world. For more info, check out the article on ComingSoon.net.

I don’t do this very often, but I’ve found a new piece of software that has seriously improved the way I use my computer: Fences, by Stardock. Don’t take this as any kind of paid advertisement, just as simple praise for a very useful piece of software. Fences allows you to create different containers on your desktop. Within these containers you can add as many different desktop items as you wish. You can size the containers however you like and even specify rules that automate how items are added to the containers. You can also double-click on your desktop and completely hide everything whenever you wish. If you use your desktop to store anything: shortcuts, works-in-progress, folders, downloads, then this product will instantly add value to the way you use your desktop.

I just had to post a little something in regards to tonight’s episode of Lost. Spoiler free of course. This was by far the best episode of the season, perhaps the best of the entire series.  Excellent job Lost team, keep the awesome coming!

So we picked up one of these IntelliGender Gender Prediction Tests. We know it’s not a fail proof method of determining the sex of the baby, but we were curious and still have several weeks before we’ll know for sure. My wife was sure it was a girl, she just felt like that's what it is, but this test says its a boy. We’ll know for sure in a few weeks, when we get the next ultrasound.

I love the premise of this movie.  It’s a very smart direction to take things. Continue on to check it out for yourself.

Just so no one freaks out, no i don’t really have a new job. Encom isn’t a real company, it’s the company in the Tron movies that Flynn worked at when he designed top games like Space Paranoids. I completed a little challenge last week and this nifty badge was the result. For those with badges, if you go to http://www.encominternational.com/login.aspx you can login using your Encom employee idea and your Flynn Lives password.  Nothing too crazy to see yet, but taking part in the creative marketing for my most anticipated movie of the year sure is fun.

When I first heard about this remake months ago, I was immediately dismissive of the film, to the point that I skipped the trailers for the film entirely. In my mind, the original stood out as a classic.  Not in the sense of it being an excellent movie or anything, but my memories of how I enjoyed the film as a kid elevated it to classic status. I figured there was no real reason to see a new Karate Kid, especially with a younger actor in the lead (Jaden Smith). I was mildly intrigued by Jackie Chan in the mentor role, but I also know that Jackie practices Kung Fu, not Karate. After reading a short article on FirstShowing.net about the author’s thoughts on the picture (he recently got to see it at ShoWest), I decided to check out the trailer. I have to admit I’ll now have to see this movie. This film is not a remake of the original film.  It uses plot points from the original, but tells an entirely different story. One thing that is interesting is Jackie’s character is teaching Kung Fu, and the film will most likely be called The Kung Fu Kid in Asia. Check out the trailer by reading on, then tell me what you think.

After watching last night’s premiere of the new FX series Justified, I think it may be one of my favorite new shows. I was surprised to find out the show takes place in my home state of Kentucky. As I expected, Tim Olyphant was great. Its hard to know after just one episode, but if an over-arching storyline is included in this show, I think I’ll be hooked for sure.

This is for all you new people…

I love Transformers. I collect them. I obsess over them. One thing that has always been disappointing about the Transformers is the lack of a great video game to satisfy my deep down desire to actually be a Transformer…I kid.

I had seen this game a while back, and after watching a great behind the scene video for the game I thought it was time to share.  The game looks impressive, and it is set in a time period in the history of the Transformers we’ve seen very little of, the early days of the war millions of years before they ever crash landed on earth. It’s featuring several classic Transformers and allows you to play as characters on both side of the conflict. Continue on to the check out both the trailer and the behind the scenes clip I mentioned above.

Justified premieres this Tuesday (after Lost for those concerned) and looks to be an excellent new show on FX. It features Tim Olyphant (The Crazies, Die Hard 4, Deadwood) which is reason enough to check it out. If its half as good as Sons of Anarchy, consider me in for the long haul.
