Lost_season_6_cast

Just a quick post about Lost. I really gotta hand it to the writers for turning this show on its end. l also appreciate the pace of the show so far.  Its been a slow climb to the top of this roller coaster, but we’ve just topped the crest folks, and its getting ready to get REAL intense.

This is some cool news. There’s a Facebook App on the ZuneHD now.  I’ll play around with it some tomorrow, but apparently it can do status updates based upon the music you’re listening to. Sounds pretty cool to me. For more info, head on over to Engadget.

So I finally got around to playing Borderlands. I enjoy the RPG elements of the game, but as a shooter, it feels kind of lacking. One thing that it has going for it is also one of its biggest problems. Finding billions of different guns is pretty insane.  Each gun is generated on the fly, with various stats differing. So finding loot is pretty interesting. But the amount of guns and their subtle differences is lost on me. Its a pain in the ass to have to compare your current loadout with the new loot you’ve found.  Its easy to do, but the frequency you have to do it is a little over the top in my opinion. One thing I love for sure is the art style.  The game looks like a comic book at all times, and you gotta love it when a developer chooses to do something different instead of ultra realistic.

I love me some western themed games.  Gun, Call of Juarez 1 & 2, Red Dead Revolver, and now what looks to be the best of them all. Red Dead Redemption is looking really good. I cannot wait to play this game. For those not in the know, it plays similar to Grand Theft Auto, but its set in the early 1900’s. Click here to check out more screens. Read on to check out one of the trailers.

OH GAWD NO, NOT THIS AGAIN!

So coming in March is some free DLC for Mass Effect 2 that will add missions where you drive around a hover tank and blow shit up. The way I understood it, driving the Mako around in ME1 was the one part that universally everyone despised. Why bring something like that back to the near perfection that is ME2? Sometimes I just don’t understand game developers.

In addition to playing Battlefield 2, I've also been trying out the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta.  So far I’m not completely sold on it, but I’m going to continue giving it a try. Visually it is very impressive, and it certainly has at least part of BF2’s charm.  Anyone else playing BFBC2?  If so, what are your names in game and I’ll add you to the in-game friends list.

So for some reason I’ve really gotten back into Battlefield 2 lately. If any of my old Kat 5 Kaos buddies want to jump back into the desert, hit me up on Facebook.

I have to admit, I really like the new beta UI for Steam. It looks like they took a lot of inspiration from Windows Media Center and the Zune software.  Really clean interface that allows for more information, without cluttering the screen for the user.

Good job Valve!

So today the countdown timer on the ZeroHour timer on FlynnLives.com. For those not in the know, FlynnLives.com is a viral marketing campaign for the new Tron movie coming out later this year.  Now that the timer has finished, the real game has begun. If you enjoy the buzz buildup leading up to a movie’s release, you might want to head on over, sign up and participate.

You gotta love finding new music.  I've just discovered the Drive-By Truckers.  They've been around for a while, but they are new to me.  If you like rock music with a slight southern sound, you will love the Drive-By Truckers.
